What is the difference between Business for Doctors Free Membership and BFD Plus (Education) Membership?
Business for Doctors free membership is our core community and networking hub, primarily focused on fostering peer support and sharing business insights.
BFD Plus (Education) members get access to our dedicated learning resources, including formal workshops, webinars, the MBS Book, and structured courses to improve the financial and operational health of their business.
How often are the MBS Education workshops held?
We run face-to-face workshops across major Australian cities (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, etc.) throughout the year. We also offer an MBS Online Series for those who prefer remote learning.
Can BFD Education help me prepare for a Medicare audit?
Yes. Our workshops, such as “Avoiding Audit Traps,” specifically focus on the most misunderstood MBS rules. We teach you how to maintain robust documentation and evidence-based billing to ensure you are compliant and “audit-proof.”
Does BFD provide resources for the latest MBS changes?
We pride ourselves on being current. Our MBS Book for General Practice and digital “cheat sheets” are updated regularly to reflect changes in assessment items, chronic disease management, and mental health structures.
Can I get CPD hours for attending your workshops?
Most BFD Education workshops are designed to meet RACGP and ACRRM requirements for CPD. Following each event, you will receive a certificate of attendance to help you track your hours.
Do you offer services for Practice Managers?
Yes. We have a dedicated “MBS Foundation for Practice Managers” course and specific networking groups to help PMs support their doctors, streamline workflows, and maximize practice efficiency.
How can BFD help me increase my billings without seeing more patients?
Our “How to Double Your Billings” workshops focus on optimizing existing patient care through correct item number usage (like Health Assessments and Care Plans) and improving clinical workflow efficiency rather than simply increasing patient volume.
Does BFD offer 1-on-1 business consulting?
Through our partner network and BFD Advisory, we can connect you with specialist medical accountants, legal experts, and practice management consultants who understand the unique financial landscape of Australian medicine.
What is the BFD Annual Conference?
It is the flagship event for the BFD community, featuring over 50 workshops, keynote speakers on wealth and wellness, and social gala events. It’s the premier networking opportunity for business-minded doctors in Australia.
Can I purchase the MBS Book if I don't attend a workshop?
Yes, the MBS Book for General Practice is available for purchase via our online shop in both hardcopy and eBook formats.
What happens if I miss a live webinar?
BFD Plus Education members gain access to our “Course Hub,” which contains a library of past webinar recordings, podcasts, and digital resources that you can view at any time.
Does BFD offer group discounts for practices?
Yes, we offer discounted rates for groups of four or more attending our workshops. Please contact admin@businessfordoctors.com for a custom quote for your team.
